GENEALOGY OF MALINDA MOLLY VAUGHAN STONE

Descendants of Malinda Vaughan (More clues to further investigations)
Generation No. 1
1. MALINDA VAUGHAN (WILLIAM PATRICK2 VAUGHAN, UNKNOWN1) was born Abt. 1813 in Tennessee, and died September 1898 in Arkansas. She married (1) WILLIAM VAUGHAN. She married (2) SOLOMON STONE Abt. 1834 in Marion County, Tennessee? He was born in Kentucky.
Notes for MALINDA VAUGHAN
It is not known who Malinda "Molly" Vaughan's parents were or exactly when she was born, she has been placed in the family of William and Fereby and though there was some sort of connection to them, just how she was related is unknown. She may have even been a much younger sister or a niece of William Vaughan. She was listed as a boarder in the household of her son-in-law and daughter, Louis and Nancy Harp in the 1880 census of Carroll County, Arkansas.
From a letter to Cora P. Call from "Agnes": "Her (Nancy's) mother's name was Malinda ________ Vaughan. In the Harp Bible it only gives her name and the month she died in, which was in Sept."
Her great granddaughter, Cora P. Call claimed that Malinda "Molly" lived to be 103 years old and died when Cora was 6 years old.
She also claimed that Molly was 1/2 Cherokee and loved to talk about the "Bursk" or Green Corn Dance. This was from Cora's book, "Indian Religion".
Notes for WILLIAM VAUGHAN:
It is unknown who this William was, the data came from a letter from Mila Hull Ender to Cora Pinkley Call of June 9th, 1964. We don't know who Ms. Ender meant. Hopefully she didn't mean that this William was the same as Malinda's father or grandfather and that her daughter Nancy was born after an incestuous affair.
Notes for SOLOMON STONE:
He was in Taney County, Missouri in 1850.

Child of MALINDA and WILLIAM VAUGHAN is:
2. i. NANCY MARIE4 VAUGHAN, b. April 13, 1828, Union or Williamson County, Tennessee; d. September 30, 1908, Carroll County, Arkansas.
Child of MALINDA and SOLOMON STONE is:
ii. LITTLE BERRY4 STONE, b. Abt. 1839, Marion County, Tennessee.
Notes for LITTLE BERRY STONE:
Apparently served in the Civil War, from a letter written to Cora P. Call from Agnus Hull on Oct. 14, 1965.
"We have some war records of Little Berry Stone."
Another letter by Agnes Hull says that Little was discharged on August 23, 1865 in Fayetteville, Arkansas, this is from his discharge papers.
Generation No. 2 (More cues)
2. NANCY MARIE4 VAUGHAN (MALINDA VAUGHAN WILLIAM PATRICK 2 VAUGHAN, UNKNOWN 1) was born April 13, 1828 in Union or Williamson County, Tennessee, and died September 30, 1908 in Carroll County, Arkansas. He was born December 28, 1826 in Warren County, Tennessee, and died June 24, 1887 in Madison County, Arkansas.
Notes for NANCY MARIE VAUGHAN:
Nancy (Vaughan) Harp's obituary, from the North Arkansas Star newspaper:

"At Rest.
"Again the death messenger has visited our midst and this time has
carried away one of the old land marks of the country. Grandma Harp (or
grandma as she was more frequently called) departed this life on the
morning of September the 30th and entered the 'home not made with
hands.' Although having attained the ripe old age of eighty years,
grandma performed much of the work for a family of eight with her own
hands having assumed the responsibility by keeping a home for her son
and six motherless children since the death of a daughter-in-law two
years ago. On the day preceding her death she went about her work as
usual and was very cheerful. She retired to rest as usual. Her son
heard her speak to one of her grandsons at two o'clock at which time she
was all right but on arising at the usual hour life had become extinct;
she seemed to have just crossed over the tide.

"We do not mourn for her as one whose life has been broken but as one
whose life was fully golden for the harvest, as one having lived a long
life full of good deeds. Grandma was a member of the Christian church
and was always in her place unless sickness or some such cause kept her
away. She was left a widow twenty years ago. Her mother lived with
her until her death eleven years ago, she having lived to the age of one
hundred and three years.

"Grandma was the mother of ten children and at the time of her death
lived in calling distance of the fifth generation. She leaves six
children and three grand children, 70 great grand children and three
great great grand children. May the loving Father comfort the sorrowing
and heal all the broken hearts, and may His especial blessing overshadow
this family who has been the second time bereft, and may her long,
useful life be helpful to us that we too may enter into the joy of our
Lord.
"We laid her by the side of her husband at Rock House cemetery....
under the name; "Mrs. J. W. Hull." -- Oct. 16, 1908, pg. 4, Col. 3
