John Vaughan: Callicott or, Callicott?

Correction on Photo: IJK photo name is-- Isaac K. and Jane Hawk.

1. We know from other written records--Nancy Callicot was spelled Callicott.??? DEPENDING ON THE RECORDER....
2. We know from other records that Nancy was born in 1777.
3. The whereabouts in his story is ..."that John Vaughan was amongst the Irish settlers of Frederick, MD, shared war experiences with them, and that they moved west with him, ending up with him, in and abt. Hawkins Co. TN. (And, we may know from family stories) that John Vaughan said; "he was from Ireland"; some other, too, have said, that John Vaughan was from Ireland. One Vaughan doesn't have trouble separating him from the VA John Vaughan, b. 1772??? Where's the proof of the truth and is it on paper? Your opinion?

Another writes; "Trying to find this record would be much more valuable than trying to fit the John Vaughan who was born in 1770 s VA into Sgt John Vaughan s records. Though they are surely kin, and close, history and arithmetic tell us they are not one and the same man." Correct by “Anonymous”
"If John Vaughan said he was from Ireland or Wales, Put more credence on his words than our calculations and theories, and believe it, in no-one theories . But in the end, it all still only a theory."
An example: “As for Nancy Callicott, the name was spelled about 10 different ways, and various descendants today of the Callicott family spell it just as many ways. There are towns in Arkansas named after the family, and I even have a close friend that is a descendant of one of Nancy's sisters. It is a fairly well documented family that left many descendants. Unusual names are always welcomed by genealogists, as it is much easier narrowing down potential matches for a Callicott than for a Smith (or even a Vaughan). I really wish John Vaughan (and William, for that matter) had been given unusual names, like Zebulon or Uriah, as there wasn't as many possibilities to find." Thanks for ideas, all corrections and additions to and of these posts.
